About Chara
Chara is a desexed female cat available for adoption in Diamond Creek (Yarra Ranges, VIC).
Chara is the cat who comes to meet you. She investigates the shopping bags, rolls onto her back in front of a visitor, and decides within minutes that you're an excellent source of chin scratches.
She shares a settled, years-long bond with her housemate, Tabitha: they groom each other, curl up together in cooler weather, and occasionally chase each other down the hallway for fun.
Chara suits a home where life has a bit of shape, and she brings an easy, sociable energy to whatever's happening.
A little about Chara:
🐾 Social and confident, coming over to investigate new visitors within minutes
🐾 Moves through the house with easy confidence, always up for the next interaction
🐾 Comfortable alongside a dog, having lived with one for years
🐾 Prefers a warm lap or a good patch of sunlight above all else
🐾 Shares a settled bond with her housemate, Tabitha
Chara's days involve play, sunbathing, and the determined pursuit of anyone who might scratch behind her ears, a mission she takes seriously. Afternoons often find her claiming the warmest spot on the couch and refusing to move.
She brings that same easy energy to every interaction, flexible and sociable through and through.
Chara is instantly social, rolling onto her back in front of a visitor and deciding within minutes that they're worth her attention.
She's flexible and easygoing, equally happy with a busy household or a quiet one, as long as there's a warm lap or a sunny patch somewhere nearby to claim as her own.
Chara will do well in a home where life has a bit of shape to it. She's flexible and sociable, and has lived comfortably alongside a dog, handling a shared home without issue.
Chara and Tabitha are a package; they're only looking for a home that can take them both, a home with room for two very different, very complementary personalities.
A gentle introduction to any new housemates will set Chara up well, though her social, confident nature means she rarely needs much settling-in time at all.
Picture Chara claiming the warmest spot on the couch and refusing to move, or investigating the shopping bags the moment they hit the floor.
Chara is easy confidence, social charm and a genuine love of company, the kind of cat who makes a house feel busier the moment she walks in. Alongside Tabitha, she's ready to bring real warmth and personality into your home.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
