About Mandy
Meet Mandy, the delightful puppy who's eager to find her home where she can truly thrive. Mandy's sweet nature and loving disposition make her a wonderful companion for anyone who appreciates the gentle side of life.
Mandy was run over when she was a very young pup and we had to have her leg amputated. This has not stopped Mandy who has no idea that she is missing a leg and this does not impede her in any way. Her clever mind needs to be kept stimulated with puzzle toys, or a bone when her humans are not home. She likes to stand in a shallow pool on warm days, too.
Mandy is cautious and submissive in early days of a new home but her personality realy shines as she bonds with her humans, seeking extra pats and cuddles while making herself right at home, often curling up on the couch with her family.
This gorgeous girl has shown great progress in many areas. She's learning basic commands like "sit," "drop," and "leave it," and is intelligent and eager-to-please nature. Mealtime is her favourite time, and she thrives on treats and needs a bit of help pacing herself, benefiting from a "go slow" bowl to keep her excitement in check. At night, she finds comfort and security in her XL crate.
Mandy would love a home with another dog to play with and children. She is very respectful to young children and babies. Mandy has briefly lived with cats and didn't seem too interested in them but definitely no birds - she is a little too obsessed with them which is why her foster carer is sadly unable to adopt her. Mandy loves her foster brother cattle dog, and they love playtime and companionship.
While toileting is a work in progress, Mandy's improving with time, patience, and reassurance. She occasionally has nervous accidents, especially when meeting new people, but with the back door open, she often chooses to do her business outside. Her love of shredding cardboard and playing with stuffed toys provides endless entertainment and enrichment, keeping her busy and content.
With an accommodating environment and a loving family, Mandy is sure to blossom into the loyal, devoted dog she is meant to be, and your new best friend.
