Looking for a loving new home

It breaks our hearts to do this, but due to family illness and no longer having a suitable home environment, we need to find a wonderful new home for our beautiful boy.

He is a 5-year-old Whippet x Jack Russell with a fun, adventurous personality. He’s an active dog who loves getting out and exploring, going on walks, and sniffing absolutely everything along the way. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, he’ll happily be your sidekick.

While he loves activity, he’s also a big cuddle bug. One of his favourite things is climbing onto your lap and curling up for a cosy nap after a good walk.

He can be a little anxious and cautious when first meeting new people, so slow introductions help him feel safe. Once he settles, he is very friendly and enjoys meeting new people. He also enjoys playing with other dogs and has socialised well with them in the past. He hasn’t been tested with cats.

He’s a sensitive little guy who can feel overwhelmed when things get a bit too busy or intense, especially if he doesn’t have space to retreat and reset. Because of this, he’ll do best in a calm home with people who can read his cues and support him in feeling safe and secure at his own pace. A home without young children would be the most comfortable environment for him.

He’s also still building confidence with car rides, so a home where outings are limited — or with someone patient who’s happy to gently help him get used to them over time — would suit him best.

He has great recall and has previously done very well with training, so he would do best with someone who enjoys continuing to work with him and give him structure and activity.

We’re hoping to find a patient, understanding, and loving home that can give him the exercise, attention, and stability he deserves. He truly is a special dog and will make a loyal and affectionate companion for the right person or family.
