About Pepper
Introducing Pepper!
Pepper is a Domestic Short Hair born 6th January 2024.
Pepper was brought in to us with multiple other cats (including her adorable litter of kittens) from a cat hoarding situation. As she has come from a home with little human interaction she can be quite timid when meeting new people, so her new family will need to be loving & patient while she settles into her new environment.
When Pepper first arrived at the facility, she had her very young kittens with her and she was a very protective mumma who always put her babies first, however as soon as her last kitten was adopted we started seeing real progress with her socialising. Pepper is now learning how fun toys & playing can be. We haven't found a treat she doesn't like, but so far her favourites are Applaws fish treats, Temptations treats & Dine liquid treats. These treats have very much helped with gaining her trust and we feel her new home should have a steady supply at the ready!
We're very excited that Pepper has also started to purr when she has her favourite humans around and she very rarely hides when people (including strangers) are coming & going through the cat room.
Since being at the facility we have found that Pepper doesn't enjoy the company of other cats (even those who have come from the same household), so we believe she would be best suited to being the only cat at home.
As Pepper is still on her "learning to trust humans" journey, we are recommending a home with either no children, or a home with children over 12 years.
Pepper will be rehomed to a family who will keep her as an inside cat only.
Pepper is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.
If you think you could be that furever family for Pepper, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Her adoption fee is $270 & this includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. She is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Pepper is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
