About Doug
Cuddly and affectionate.
Meet Doug! He is a sweet and affectionate pup aged approximately 8-10 months, who was found roaming around a servo. His past before this is unknown, but it is clear that he hasn’t had much exposure to the good life, because he is unsure of most things and he requires patience and guidance while he learns the household rules.
Dougie is training to be an inside dog. He needs constant supervision inside for now, but he loves being in with his family learning about everything. Being inside has been a huge step for Dougie’s exposure to new things and his confidence has grown greatly by just being able to live closer with his humans.
He would benefit greatly from obedience training in his new family. He is a great ball fetcher and would do well if his new owner could offer nose work in Doug’s day for mental enrichment.
It appears that Doug might have some Gun Dog ancestry although his breed is unknown, he has some qualities such as tremendous skills with scent and fetching. His foster family is working with him on harnessing these strengths.
He needs a patient, kind owner who understands he is just a puppy who has missed out on experiencing the best of this world’s offerings.
Doug is not too high energy for a pup of his size and age, so he would suit any owner and lifestyle both young and old, as long as he is not left alone all day long.
Dougie needs a family who will kindly guide him, share a great amount of their time with him, offer regular walks and adventures together, and most importantly, someone who is going to advocate for him, and not be afraid to snuggle up on the couch with him watching TV.
