Patch is a gentle and affectionate greyhound who forms very special bonds with his people. Once you become his person, he absolutely adores you and loves being close, often sneaking between your legs for extra pats and attention. He has a sweet, goofy side and a clever mind, and has been enjoying brain games in foster care. With his intelligence and eagerness to engage, he could also do well learning tricks or even trying some agility-style activities.
Patch is very happy spending most of his time indoors and would suit apartment living just as well as a house. He is able to stay home alone during a regular workday and can comfortably hold his toileting for around 10–11 hours.
He could live happily as a solo dog or alongside another greyhound or whippet. At this stage he is still a little unsure around other breeds, so a calm environment with similar dogs would suit him best.
Patch walks nicely on the lead overall. Sometimes when he feels overwhelmed he may freeze for a moment, but with calm and confident guidance he quickly finds his footing again. For this reason he would be best suited to a quieter neighbourhood rather than a very busy city environment.
Patch has shown interest in children and enjoys human interaction, though he can get a little jumpy when excited, so a home with older children would be more suitable.
Like many sensitive souls, Patch is still building confidence with new people and unfamiliar dogs. With patience, reassurance and a loving home, he will continue to blossom.
What truly makes Patch special is his deep affection and the way he quietly communicates with his humans. He may not be the most vocal dog, but he has a lovely way of letting you know what he needs. In return, he offers loyalty, sweetness and a whole lot of love to the person lucky enough to call him theirs. 🐾

Adoption details
The adoption fee is $395 and includes desexing, C5 vaccination, muzzle and lifetime registration in NSW.
Once we found a potential match, the following will happen:
- Phone chat with one of the HBH coordinators
- Phone chat with the foster carer
- Meet and Greet with the foster carer and the dog
- Setting up your personal support group through FB messenger or Whatsapp with Foster Carer and HBH coordinators
- House visit (virtual or in person)
- Paperwork and Adoption fee to be returned to HBH
- Trial start (2 weeks)
- Final adoption!
