About Maggie
Maggie's journey to finding a new home hasn't been easy, but if there's one thing we know for certain, it's that this beautiful girl has so much love to give.
Maggie came into the shelter after her owner sadly passed away. For a cat who had known the comfort of a home, arriving in the busy shelter environment was a huge and frightening adjustment. She was very scared and quite shut down at first but even then, Maggie still sought comfort from people. She would quietly purr and lean into gentle pats, showing us that beneath the nerves was a very loving cat.
While in our care, Maggie also had dental surgery to get her comfortable and ready for her next chapter. After recovering, she headed into foster care where her true personality finally began to shine.
And what a personality it is.
According to her foster family, Maggie is one of the most affectionate cats they've ever met. She starts purring the moment she sees you and is completely obsessed with head scratches. One of her cutest habits is rolling onto her back, grabbing your hand with both paws, and pulling it in so she can bunt her head into it for even more pats. She's also a bit of a chatty girl, happily talking to her people and making sure you know she's there.
Maggie has two great loves in life: her humans and her donut tunnel. In fact, she loved her tunnel so much that her foster carers made sure she has one to take with her to her new home, because it clearly became her little place of comfort and security.
Her foster carers absolutely adored her and were heartbroken to say goodbye. If they could have adopted Maggie themselves, they would have in a heartbeat but with four cats already at home, they knew Maggie deserved a space where she could truly relax.
Maggie did eventually warm up to the other cats in foster care, but she would likely be happiest in a quieter, more peaceful home, either as the only cat or with fewer feline housemates. Loud noises and lots of activity can make her a little nervous, so a calm environment where she can feel safe and soak up all the attention she craves would suit her best.
In the right home, we're confident it won't take long for Maggie to blossom into the incredibly affectionate, quirky girl her foster family fell in love with.
Maggie is a sweet, sensitive soul who has already been through a lot of change. Now she's hoping to find a patient, loving family who will give her the security she's been missing - and in return she'll give you purrs, head bunts, and all the love in the world.
She truly is a special cat, and she deserves the very best.
