Meet this big-hearted goofball 💙
He’s a social, easygoing boy who gets along beautifully with other dogs and absolutely lives for water — if there’s a dam, creek, or hose around, he’s in heaven. Walks are one of his favourite parts of the day; he can be a little excited at first, but once he settles, he’s lovely on the lead.
He already knows sit and down, and he’s currently learning stay. He’s very human‑oriented and doesn’t stray far, so with a bit more obedience under his belt, he’ll be a great candidate for off‑lead adventures. He travels brilliantly in the car and is always keen to be included in whatever his people are doing.
At around 30kg (and still a little underweight), he’s a gentle soul who means well — he’s still learning his manners around kids, but he’s soft and friendly, so a home with primary‑school‑aged children and up would suit him fine. He’s house‑trained, sleeps soundly in his crate at night, and has shown no signs of digging or trying to escape. Despite his size, he’s not a high‑energy dog; he’s just as happy lounging around the yard or curling up on the couch as he is heading out for an adventure.
He’s a bit of a lovable dope — the kind who makes you laugh daily — but he’s also eager to learn, food‑motivated, and genuinely wants to please. With a family who enjoys his goofy charm and can keep building on his training, he’ll grow into the most loyal, affectionate companion.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
