When Vera arrived at The Lost Dogs' Home, she wasn't thinking about herself at all, she had babies to care for.

This gentle girl came into our care with her little ones and immediately proved what an incredible mum she is. She kept them safe, fed, warm and loved while they grew big enough to start their own adventures in life.

And she did an amazing job.

Now the time has come for Vera's kittens to head off to their new homes and while she's been the best mum they could have asked for, it's finally Vera's turn to be looked after.

Those who have spent time with her quickly discover that she is an absolute sweetheart. She has a soft, gentle nature and a quiet kindness about her that makes people fall for her very quickly. After spending so much time focusing on her babies, she seems more than ready to enjoy a life where she gets to be the centre of someone's world.

We like to think Vera will be very happy watching her babies go off and start their new lives, knowing she did her job perfectly. Now she's ready to begin a new chapter of her own - one where she gets all the love, comfort and attention she deserves.
