Sooty

Sometimes the hardest part of shelter life isn't that animals aren't loved, it's that their whole world changed when they were.

Sooty and Missy came into the care of The Lost Dogs' Home after their owner sadly became too unwell to care for them, these two gentle souls found themselves somewhere that feels very unfamiliar.

Both Sooty and Missy are a little underconfident here. They're not dramatic about it, they're just quietly unsure. The kind of cats who sit back and watch the world rather than rushing up to greet it. They both enjoy a gentle pat once they know you're kind, but they're very much "all four paws on the floor" type of cats, not demanding, not clingy, just happy to share space with someone calm and caring.

They're the sort of cats who will likely settle into a routine in a home, find a favourite sunny spot, and quietly become part of someone's everyday life.

While they arrived together and can happily exist in each other's company, they're not particularly bonded and don't need to be adopted together. Each of them could do well finding their own peaceful home.

There's something incredibly special about giving cats like Sooty and Missy a second chance. They may not be the loudest personalities in the room, but the quiet ones often have the most meaningful stories.

Right now, they're just waiting for someone to see past the shelter walls and realise they're really lovely cats who simply need the right person to belong to again.

Sooty and Missy are both part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
