About Tails & Little Tails
Tails & Little Tails – A Tale of Two Sisters
Tails: 953010006700675
Little Tails: 953010008056167
The story of these two sisters is quite extraordinary — a true tale of love, loyalty, and an unbreakable bond.
Tails and her sister, Little Tails, came into care after both were hit by a car on a busy freeway. Miraculously, Tails escaped with only a few scuff marks, but her sister wasn’t as lucky. Little Tails suffered a severe tail injury that required an emergency amputation.
A kind Good Samaritan rescued the two kittens and brought them to safety. What they witnessed was remarkable — despite being injured and terrified herself, Tails refused to leave her sister’s side, fiercely guarding her the entire time.
Even when we first opened the carrier to assess their injuries, Tails stayed protectively beside her sister, determined to keep her safe.
Because of everything they’ve been through in such a short time, both girls are understandably very nervous around people. But every day they are learning that the world can be a gentle place. Our beautiful resident mumma cat Tilly, along with her kittens, has been helping show them that humans can be kind and safe.
Tails and Little Tails are deeply bonded and must be adopted together. Their bond is truly special — they have survived so much together, and they draw comfort and confidence from one another.
We are looking for a very special home for these girls: a quiet, patient household where they can continue to build trust at their own pace and blossom into the loving companions we know they can be.
With time, love, and understanding, these brave little sisters will reward their person with a bond just as special as the one they share with each other. 💛
Adoption Fee & Desexing Requirement
Adoption Fee: $500each
To support the long-term health and wellbeing of our kittens, SANA requires adopters to arrange and pre-pay for their kitten’s desexing procedure with a registered veterinary clinic before adoption is finalised. The adoption fee will be discounted when provided proof of procedure payment invoice.
Adopters must:
• Book a desexing appointment with a veterinarian for when the kitten reaches the appropriate age (generally 6–8 months)
• Provide a copy of the veterinary invoice confirming the procedure has been prepaid to SANA prior to finalise adoption
We have implemented this change with the long-term health and wellbeing of the kitten in mind, while also allowing adopters to take their kitten home from six weeks of age so they don’t miss out on the adorable kitten stage and most importantly the early bonding period.
According to guidance from the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA), desexing very young kittens may carry certain risks in some animals. These can include:
• Orthopaedic or developmental concerns due to delayed growth plate closure
• Altered metabolism which may increase the risk of obesity
• Changes in insulin sensitivity, potentially increasing the risk of diabetes
• Possible urinary tract complications, particularly in male cats
• Potential impacts on behavioural, reproductive and hormonal development
For these reasons, desexing is recommended from 6 months of age, unless otherwise advised by your veterinarian.
Failure to comply with the desexing requirement may result in the adoption agreement being considered void, and SANA reserves the right to take appropriate action to ensure the welfare of the animal.
Adoption fees help cover the costs of rescue, veterinary care, food, parasite prevention and rehabilitation for animals in care.
