Pepper

When Pepper and her family came into care as strays, this little girl thought everyone and everything was terrifying, and spent much of her time hiding in dark corners, cuddled up to her brother Salt for comfort. As Salt grew more confident and began making friends with humans, Pepper slowly followed suit– and is now thriving, learning to enjoy all sorts of games, exploring her surroundings, and overcoming much of her instinctive anxieties.

While still timid at times, like many cats Pepper responds well to humans that can go at her pace, and once she feels comfortable will let her real personality shine through. She is mischievous and intellegent, and has endless curiosity that makes her a pleasure to spend time with. Pepper loves biting cardboard, pouncing on interesting objects, and playfully wrestling or snuggling with her brother, who is still her best friend. She's enjoying the company of humans more and more; she will happily soak up all the pats and chin scritches you provide, and may well grow to be a proper lapcat with enough patience and love.

Pepper is looking for an indoor-only home, possibly with teenagers or older kids who can respect her needs, and another cat for company. She would be thrilled to be adopted with her brother Salt, so that he can continue being her best friend and support her through this next big step to her forever home.
