About Niko
Niko is a gentle, kind-hearted 1-year-old boy looking for a patient and loving home where he can continue to build his confidence and truly shine.
Niko can be a little nervous when meeting new people or experiencing new environments, but beneath that shy exterior is a very sweet dog who forms strong bonds with the people he learns to trust. With calm guidance, patience, and positive training, Niko continues to grow in confidence every day and is already making lovely progress.
He gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from having a calm, confident canine companion to help show him the ropes. Niko has also spent time around chickens and has shown a respectful and relaxed attitude toward them.
Niko is still learning about the world and many things are new to him. He is learning to chase a ball, practising his sit, and has started walking on a harness — all skills that are still very new but that he is trying his best to understand. He is a thoughtful and sensitive boy who wants to do the right thing and responds beautifully to kind handling and consistent training.
Despite his working-breed looks, Niko is not as high energy as a typical kelpie or collie. He has a softer, more relaxed nature and absolutely loves affection. Once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly cuddly and enjoys being close to his people.
Niko also has some very endearing little quirks — including occasionally running around with his ears flipped inside out, which never fails to make people smile.
Niko would thrive in a quieter home where someone has the time and understanding to help him continue building confidence and feeling secure. With the right family, he has all the potential to become a deeply loyal and devoted companion.
For someone willing to invest a little patience and love, Niko will return it tenfold with unwavering loyalty and a very special bond.
If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who just needs the right home to flourish, Niko could be the perfect fit.
Niko is located in NSW.

Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa.
