About Flick
Re-Introducing Flick!
Flick is a Irish Wolfhound x born 2nd July 2025.
Flick was brought into the facility as an unmicrochipped stray & sadly no-one came looking for her.
When Flick arrived at the facility she was incredibly stressed being in the kennel environment, so we got her into foster care quickly. In foster care she thrived and completely settled into the home life. She quickly figured out the doggy door & is now toilet trained. She loves her food, but is quite gentle when taking treats. Flick absolutely LOVES toys, especially tennis balls and she will chase them for as long as you're willing to throw them. Flick is also quite partial to having a cuddle on the lounge with her humans.
Sadly Flick's foster carer is having some health issues at the moment, so she is back at the facility. As we know how stressed she was before going into care, we're hoping to get her into her forever home as quickly as possible.
For a short amount of time Flick did have a foster sister in a younger Wolfhound puppy and they got along very well. Her foster carer regularly took her to the dog park where she enjoyed the company of other calm dogs/puppies. Unfortunately Flick doesn't like boisterous dogs who like to jump on her or try to wrestle with her. We believe Flick could be suitable to live with another dog, or to be the spoint only "child" at home. If you have a calm, friendly dog we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Unfortunately Flick has shown signs of prey drive, so she will need a home with no small animals like cats, chickens & rabbits.
While Flick is still quite young she does have moments of being a crazy puppy, however she is highly food motivated so she will be easily trainable and these loyal dogs love to please their owners.
She still has so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Flick will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
When Flick first went into foster care she did have quite bad separation anxiety, however she is now quite content with being left alone. While she may occasionally let out a sad cry, she usually spends her time asleep on the lounge or playing with her toys. While she has made great improvements, she will need a home with at least 6ft fencing & preferably only be left for a few hours at a time.
If you think you could be that furever family for Flick, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Her adoption fee has been reduced to $350 & includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. She is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Flick is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
