Hi, I’m Manny – your best friend in the making!
I may be a little guy, but my personality is anything but small. I was surrendered into Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld's care and since then my carers have discovered that I’m an absolute delight. Now I’m ready to find a forever family who will adore me as much as I adore them.
I’m a cheeky, energetic little boy with a classic bouncy JR/dach personality. Life is very exciting when you’re Manny! I love toys, playtime, cuddles, and being involved in whatever my humans are doing. I’m also a very smart little man-I can already sit, I’m learning “wait” quite quickly, and I’m working on my leash walking skills too.
Despite my playful nature, I’m also a huge fan of snuggles. I’m very happy to curl up on the couch with you for a TV binge and soak up all the affection I can get. I’m the perfect lap-sized companion. My carers say I’m the cutest little man ever, and I’m already stealing hearts wherever I go. I currently live with another dog and enjoy the company. Having a confident doggy sibling would really help me continue building my confidence and would give me a buddy to play with.
I’m learning lots of new things in foster care. I will happily eat and rest in my crate, although I’m still working on feeling comfortable if I’m put in there for long periods. I’m also still learning that being left alone isn’t so scary. I’m improving though, and I can now cope with short periods when my doggy friend is with me for company.
I have met the family's cat and while I need further training to be gentle and calm around cats, I show promise there. I also haven’t spent much time with very small children, but I was lovely and gentle with children around 8 years old when I met them at the vet clinic.
My perfect home looks like…
🐾 A playful, friendly dog sibling to help keep me company and show me the ropes. If you don't have another dog in the home, you must be home with me most of the time or arrange dog daycare. I will not cope being a single dog for full time workers eg.
🐾 A secure backyard where I can zoom, explore and burn off my energy
🐾 A family who understands I’m still learning and will help me build confidence when left alone
🐾 Lots of love, patience, training and cuddles while I grow into the amazing dog I’m meant to be
🐾 A home where I can sleep inside at night and be part of the family

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:

- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. This holding deposit will be subtracted from the adoption fee should you adopt the animal on hold for you.
