About Alfonze STA015011
Ruggedly handsome with a face that tells a thousand stories, Alfonz is the kind of fellow you don’t forget. This tough boy has clearly spent some time out in the world fending for himself — or perhaps defending himself — and he’s got the battle scars to prove it. When he first came to us, Alfonz was a bit worse for wear. His teeth needed extensive dental work, his body bore the marks of old scuffles, and an old injury to his lip that gives him an extra touch of roguish character.
Despite everything he’s been through, Alfonz hasn’t lost his faith in people. In fact, he’s wonderfully trusting and clearly enjoys human company.
Now that street life is behind him, Alfonz is embracing the comforts of indoor living. Being FIV+, he’ll need to remain indoors only, where he can stay safe and healthy — something he seems more than happy to agree to in exchange for good food, warm laps, and regular brush sessions.
And speaking of food… Alfonz looooooves his meals. When he’s not thinking about snacks, you’ll often find him enjoying playtime, soaking up a good brushing, or settling himself happily on a lap for a sit.
He’s very much a guy who likes to keep all four paws on the ground — not one for being picked up, but perfectly content to sit beside you (or on you) while you relax together.
Alfonz has done his time on the streets. Now he’s ready for the good life: a warm home, plenty of love, regular meals, and a human who appreciates a fellow with a bit of character and a very big heart.
If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate companion with a story behind him, Alfonz is ready to write his next chapter with you. 🐱💛

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
