About Woody
Hello there! I'm Woody, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR WOODY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction. Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family. Because I can be shy in new situations, a home without little ones who may accidentally startle me would suit me best or kids that are respectful of dog boundaries. Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
• Because I may have had a sheltered start and can be shy in new situations, continued socialisation will really help build my confidence. I'm already becoming braver at the shelter!
• I'm still a puppy, which means I will chew, nip, have accidents, bark, and sometimes be a little destructive. With patience, consistency, and training, I'll learn - but I need a family fully committed to putting in the time and effort to help me succeed.
• As a young puppy, I'm ready to learn and adapt - how I grow and mature will reflect the love, structure, and guidance you provide
• I enjoy the company of friendly male and female dogs.
• I need a doggy companion to keep me company when my family isn't home, or a household where someone is around most of the time. I can feel lonely and a little anxious when left alone, which may lead to barking or destructive behaviour.
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they'll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
• I've lived in the same home my whole life and had very little exposure to the outside world. Everything is quite new to me, so I'll need a patient family to gently socialise me and show me that the world isn't such a scary place.
•
My Paw-some Perks:
• I walk nicely on lead for a young dog, and with daily walks I'll only keep improving.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
Training:
• I haven't had any formal training yet, so I'll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• I'm shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar environments, and I can be extremely timid when entering buildings or homes. I'll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation.
• I can feel anxious when left alone in the backyard and may become vocal, barking or whining. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company, and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Woody if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
Please note that adoption applications can only be approved if you're able to visit the shelter to meet WOODY in person.
If you have any existing dogs at home, they will also need to come to the shelter to meet WOODY prior to adoption approval, to ensure everyone is a good match.
