About Chief
Chief is an interesting lad and is successfully (really gaining momentum) working through some early engagement challenges. We feel he may have been taken away from his mother and littermates at a young age and hasn't had the opportunity to learn some early social skills. He is really trying and making good progress but it has initially been hard for him and hasn't come naturally.
Having said all that he is very treat motivated, has a very impressive sit and becoming very open to, and wanting to learn new things.
He gets on with other dogs but can be a bit bossy (maybe its being unsure and filling the gap) and would do really well with a confident dog he can learn from.
He will also need a confident person who is willing to dedicate time to building a relationship with him and having firm and consistent boundaries. He has shown great progress so far and we know he will reward his new person's guidance with a lot of growth and love.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc.
