About Medea
Medea wasn’t supposed to live - but just like who she was named after - she defied the odds and survived! (Without the baby killing part 😜)
Originally rescued in October last year, Medea was a tiny little baby who had several fractures to her wing and toes, as well as suffering from malnutrition. Unfortunately a few days into care, she steeply declined, but with lots of love managed to get her out of the danger zone. She still wasn’t out of the woods for a while - becoming a runt and trailing behind on growth … slowly but surely Medea was catching up to her other friends! And now she is finally ready for home, with a fresh coat of lovely feathers. 😍
Medea is a little bit shy, given she has taken babysitting role to all of the other kindergarten pigeons, but she comfortably sits on your hand and will nibble it if she suspects treats are nearby.
As a result of her injuries, Medea is a poor flier but can still sustain some height. She would like to be in an accessible aviary, or doted on indoors.
Please adopt Medea!
Medical notes
Malnutrition - that itself does not pose issues long-term, however it can indicate that the bird’s immune system is weaker - keep up with multivitamins and minerals!
Previous fractures of the phalanges + toes - watch out for signs of discomfort which may arise.
