About MS Z. von Dobermann
🖤 Meet Miss Zara von Dobermann
📍 Acton, ACT 2601
🐾 05.05.24 DOB |European Dobermann | Black & Rust | Female
Miss E von Dobermann is a truly stunning youngster.
25 kg lady — cheeky, affectionate, very intelligent and full of personality, she is not only stunning to look at but fun to be with on a daily basis.
With a small frame, Zara can run like the clappers, and has a LOVE for ball play.
Whilst still a youngster, her confidence needs continuing development away from the farm life she has known. Ms Z can melt hearts at 50 feet and has learned to love cuddles once she trusts you.
All rescue Dobermanns need time to warm up to new people, including those in and around your life. This tendency persists throughout their lives and is characteristic of the breed. They are loyal to their family members, meaning everyone they live with, not just one individual. This trait can be influenced by how they are treated or ignored at home. If one person truly loves them, Dobermanns will cling to that person.
Zara has a stable mindset now that shes more acclimated to home life. She's a healthy young lady who appears to be from American bloodlines and is a hoot to play with when the balls come out.
She's crazy about hanging out and is great outside, but can bark if not allowed to come back inside without drawing breath!
We're working on her impulse control when outside, using a large frozen beef bone (not marrow) to help her learn to be outside in fine weather by herself is a lovely thing. She has no known genetic or structural issues and is in excellent health, representing the best traits of high-energy Dobermanns and the breed—she's intelligent, athletic, protective, and deeply loyal.
Ms E is currently with our founder and is enjoying daily life whilst learning better habits around food and attention.
^^A deep, first-hand insight into her temperament, genetics, and character is provided in the following paragraphs^^, and ensures her prospective home receives tailored guidance and confidence from her background.
She’s a high-energy girl who loves adventures in the car, walking around the burb and socialising.
She may explore far from you when off-leash it may kick in her 'street smarts' appearing like she's 'shaping-up' for a knuckle fight, thankfully she's only looking for playmates, while we don't encourage her to 'make decisions' off leash without 'checking in' and handler 'approval', we continue to mould these old behaviours into manners and patience diminishing her street smarts to a less aroused level.
While she doesn't so much search for food anymore, she can bin surf if given half a chance. 'Bin surfing' impulses are dwindling via routine feeding schedules, bones on tap, and treat-based training.
It is wise to know that 'off-leash' will come with these behaviours if her new ball habits we have recently established are not utilised. These games are the best for a quick energy drain and mental focus, leaving her satisfied mentally and physically.
Old habits, based on neuroscience understanding, will dissipate if not reinforced in her new home with consistency in her new lifestyle's acceptable manners.
Zara has been underweight, and due to farm life, this is often attributed to worms, which has been the case for her. After four rounds of Dobermann-centric worming treatments to cover all worm types, we have succeeded, and she is now free of this problem. With the extended worming treatment regimens, Zara is putting on the correct weight in the right places.
Worm treatment for Zara, going forward, we do oblige her new home to follow this strict protocol, offering a proxy benefit: minimal bin surfing and a happier, more engaged youngster.
Consistent feeding and routine schedules include Greek yoghurt, raw mince, finely grated vegetables and fruit, puppy-oriented kibble (Royal Canin, Maxi Puppy), and biscuits to maintain constant weight. Along with plenty of liver treats and plain biscuits, these will be her go-to for life.
She does not find the big world outside intimidating and does not need constant reassurance, but she does need constant coaching on leash manners just to keep her focused on the handler and listening so that her street smarts don't kick in and think play-play-play. We'd hope for a home with patient people who can offer her the time and repetition in training she needs to become confident to show the world her wonderful personality and loving nature.
If your home can continue our training programme to foster faster recall, maintain the 'You're Safe' reassurance for her, and demonstrate that she is truly secure under your leadership, she will thrive with you.
While she's not carrying excessive weight, Zara's sense of self and safety have been our priority. Her mental acuity and her responses to what we have asked of her continue to ensure she can trust us, and we are the leadership consistency she can rely on. Part of this metric is her learning to play with other Dobermanns in rescue in a way that is not the 'full-on, flat-out 150% al the time' style she's used to, and we couldn't be more proud.
While Ms Z currently lives in a home environment where she’s completing her transition program through the Dobermann.Club 3-Pillar Training System, she is very close to her adoptable status and graduating soon.
Ms Z is a protective, stable-minded youngster — she’ll announce visitors with confident, deep barks but remains clear-headed and balanced. She’s not anxious or reactive and loves playdates with other stable dogs. She won't accept other dogs who are snippy or reactive, however. She will stand her ground, but decision-making around which dogs to play with and which to avoid will be the basis of your great leadership style and knowledge of local dogs and friends' furry companions to keep her safe.
Ms Z is not familiar with dog parks, nor are any Dobermanns who have not been raised and taught the etiquette of dog parks.
We reserve the right to decline interested parties who insist on visiting dog parks.
Ms Z lacks the knowledge and skills to avoid being overwhelmed by them, and therefore, they should be avoided for life.

Good Traveller: Hops happily into the car for adventures, must be tethered per the laws.
