About Winston
Winston – Loyal “House Hippo” Looking for a Calm Home
Winston is a beautiful Shar Pei with a big personality and an incredibly loyal heart. He forms a strong bond with his person and simply enjoys being near you. He isn’t overly demanding of attention, but will happily follow you around the house just to keep you company.
He is very independent but fiercely loyal once he trusts you. Winston loves quiet companionship, neck rubs, and the occasional kiss on the cheek.
Winston is strictly an indoor dog who enjoys the comforts of a cosy couch or soft bed. He does still enjoy wandering around the garden or peacefully laying in the sun. Around the house we affectionately call him the “house hippo” as he romps around before settling back into his favourite comfy spot.
He can happily live as the only dog, but if he does have a sibling it would need to be a relaxed, gentle, chilled dog that respects his calm nature.
Winston has a cheeky side and loves running off with shoes or any unattended items, and he enjoys playing with his stuffed toys. He isn’t fussy with food either, Winston will happily eat just about anything (including your food if you’re not watching!).
He can be a little stand-offish when first meeting new people, but once he warms up his affectionate and loyal personality shines through.
Winston is desexed, has previously had entropion eye surgery, and takes medication to help manage some anxiety.
He would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can relax, feel safe, and stay close to his people.
