About Gus - 14 Week Old Chihuahua X Dachshund
Gus is a 14 week old, male, Chihuahua x Dachshund small breed puppy. He is super smart, a little sassy, a little chatty, and full of personality.
Gus is a very healthy, happy little puppy who has an absolute zest for life and love. He has been socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is particularly friendly and affectionate with them.
Gus is already showing how clever he is. He uses a doggy door confidently and happily wanders in the yard independently. His toilet training is going extremely well with a high success rate. Like all puppies he still needs guidance, but he is learning very quickly.
When Gus plays, he really plays! His zoomies are next level and guaranteed to make you laugh. He is a confident, curious puppy who enjoys exploring and being part of family life.
Gus will grow to be just a small dog. We always recommend puppy training classes to give your new family member the best manners and start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Gus. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Gus needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside unconditionally. He does truly believe your bed is his bed, and takes up very little room. He sleeps all night and has no toileting accidents. He's also keen to sleep in, and hesitant to rise of a morning. Due to his petite size, he is suitable for dog savvy children 8 years and older. You need to have good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Gus's adoption fee is $900 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Gus is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
