Chani was a stray found in Atherton, and we are very glad that she has a second chance because she is a loving and affectionate girl who likes nothing better than to be next to you receiving a cuddle or a pat. She always runs to meet you, madly wagging her tail and glad to see you returning home or getting up in the morning! She has just completed all her vet work and checks and is extremely healthy and ready to rehome.
Chani LOVES food and this food motivation makes her easier to train. She is quickly learning to walk well on lead but because she is still a puppy, she needs more practice!
Chani loves the company of other dogs, although we think she may also do well as an only dog. She is untested with cats and will require testing if a potential adopter already has a cat as part of their family.
Thankfully, Chani seems to be over the puppy chewing stage as she has left alone all the human shoes and other temptations in the house. She is also an excellent traveller - confident and quiet in the back of the car or in the dog crate on the ute.
She has quickly learned not to jump on the couch or the bed at her foster home. Due to Chani’s age and potential adult size, she currently requires reinforcement not to jump up, so she is better suited to families with older children. In time, with more training and age, the behaviour will settle, but she is still fresh into foster care and very grateful for attention from her human foster carers.
Everyone who has met Chani has been impressed with her affectionate nature and we are sure that her lucky forever human/s will fall in love with her very quickly- we know that she will make a marvellous companion.
Chani is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and given flea/tick/worm prevention.
