About Ivy
Meet Ivy - sweet and gentle Maremma girl looking for rural home 🌿
Ivy is looking for a family where she'll be allowed indoors on a larger property/ acreage.
Ivy is a fun-loving 1.5-year-young Maremma with the softest heart and the most soulful eyes. She carries that beautiful, quiet presence the breed is known for — calm, thoughtful, and deeply devoted to her people.
Since arriving in foster care, Ivy has settled in quickly and with ease. She has formed a lovely bond with the resident dog. Together they watch the world go by from the deck. Ivy also truly adores her human. She is the kind of dog who will quietly lie nearby, content just knowing you’re there.
Ivy travels beautifully in the car. When exploring new environments, she prefers to take her time — watching, observing, and gently building confidence at her own pace. With patience and reassurance, she continues to grow braver every day. She doesn’t need to be rushed; she simply needs someone who understands that confidence blossoms with kindness.
Being a Maremma, Ivy does use her voice. She is naturally alert and will bark to communicate when she feels it’s important — this is part of who she is and one of the many traits that make the breed so special. For this reason, she is looking for a home on acreage in a rural setting where she can feel secure and where her guardian instincts are understood and appreciated.
Ivy is not trained to work with livestock and is best suited as a companion dog rather than a working guardian. What she truly wants is connection — a calm home, space to breathe, and people who value her steady presence and loyal heart.
If you have room in your heart — and a little space around your home — Ivy may be waiting just for you. 🤍
