About Barney - 5 Year Old Newfoundland
Barney is a 5-year-old Newfoundland with a heart every bit as big as his beautiful, black, bouncy self!
This gorgeous boy is gentle, affectionate and deeply devoted to his people. Barney doesn’t just want to live with you — he wants to be part of your world. Whether you’re working from home, pottering in the garden, or relaxing on the couch, he’ll be right there, happily keeping you company. He truly thrives when he’s included as a valued family member.
Barney is looking for a home where he can be the only dog. He prefers not to share his space with other dogs and will do best in a calm, predictable environment where he doesn’t have to navigate canine social situations. For this reason, Barney is not suited to dog parks or dog beaches, and his future family will need to be comfortable with giving him a different kind of life — one filled with enriching sniffy walks and time with his people rather than busy social outings.
He would love a home where people are around more often than not. Best suited to kids 8+
In return, Barney offers loyalty, warmth, and that classic Newfie sweetness — the kind that melts your heart when he leans into you for a cuddle. He is a lovely, soulful boy who will reward the right home with unwavering companionship.
If you’re looking for a devoted best friend and understand that not every dog needs the dog park life to be happy, Barney might just be your perfect match.
Barney is in care in Newcastle area, NSW. He is not available for adoption interstate. His adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
