Hi future humans - my name is Iris.

I've been here at the shelter for quite a while now. The humans keep telling me it's not my fault - I just came in as a stray - but I can't help dreaming about the day someone finally chooses me and takes me home.

I'm a big girl with an even bigger heart. People here call me a gentle giant, and I think that fits pretty well. I love being around humans - I'll happily follow you from room to room, keeping you company, or settle nearby while you do your own thing. I don't need constant fuss...I just like knowing you're there 💕

I'm very sweet and snuggly, and I really enjoy spending time with people of all ages. I've been good with kids too, though I'd love for us to meet first to make sure we're all the perfect match 🤝

I'm a smart girl (German Shepherds usually are!) and I feel my best when I have a bit of structure and guidance. I enjoy learning, and I'd love a home that can help me keep growing and building my confidence. I can be a little strong on the lead sometimes, but I'm trying my best - and the good news is, I come with my very own harness and lead to help us get started on our adventures together 🐕‍🦺

I'd really like a home where I can be your one and only dog, with a nice secure yard where I can relax, play, and just be part of the family 🏡

More than anything, I just want someone to love. I've been waiting patiently, but I'm so ready to find my forever humans - people who will see me for who I am: loyal, gentle, and full of love to give.
