Meet Bean!
This little guy was found with his sister Salsa at five weeks old in the backyard of a friend of a friend of the foster carer.
His mum hadn't been seen in a long time, he was really malnourished, covered in fleas, and scared.
Across the road was a cat colony, but the kittens were found very close to a train line. Sadly we think mum got hit by a train.
After a flea bath and lots of love, Bean is a whole new kitten!
With the right nutrition his body weight practically doubled in one week.
He is incredibly sweet but also very playful. He is often wrestling with his poor sister (who isn't available for adoption yet due to needing a surgery), or playing with one of the many toys he loves.
One of his favourite games is peekaboo with the foster carer.
He has shown interest in the other cats that aren't his sister, and would benefit from a playmate in his new home.
He loves to explore new things, and his confidence is a major change from the tiny kitten that was hiding away.
He is also a bit clingy, and cries if he can't get to you.
Bean has had one vaccination.
As of 1st August 2025, our adoption fees will be adjusted to help cover rising vet and care costs. The new fees are as follows:
Kittens (1 vaccination): $400
Kittens (2 vaccinations): $450
Adult & Adolescent Cats (9+ months): $280
Breed cats will be listed with a separate adoption fee based on their individual profile.
Change of ownership is included in the adoption fee.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us care for and rehome the many cats and kittens that come through our rescue.
All 2nd Chance Cat Rescue cats are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and come with a take home pack. We transfer the change of Ownership free of charge into your name.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
