Claude is a handsome adult black-and-white cat with a striking coat and an independent spirit shaped by his time as a stray. Having spent the majority of his life fending for himself, he’s learned to be resilient and self-reliant. While he may need a little time to fully settle into a home environment, Claude has so much potential to build a strong, trusting bond with someone who understands and respects him. Once he feels safe, he enjoys companionship on his own terms and the comfort of a warm, secure space to call his own. Because of his past, Claude can sometimes become frustrated around feeding times. Food has understandably been a big focus in his life, and he may eat quickly or become impatient. For this reason, it’s recommended that he goes home with an automated feeder to provide consistent, scheduled meals. This will help him feel more secure about when his food is coming and reduce any stress or frustration around mealtimes. Claude would be best suited to a calm home with no children under 15 years old. He can become overwhelmed if he feels overhandled, so he needs an owner who is confident in reading cat body language and understands when to give him space. An experienced cat owner who appreciates a more independent companion will be the perfect match for him. Having spent so much of his life outdoors, Claude will need secure outdoor access in his new home. A safe garden or enclosed outdoor space fitted with a cat net will allow him to explore and enjoy fresh air while staying protected. Ensuring the area is fully secured will give him the freedom he’s used to, with the safety and stability of a loving home.
