About Collingwood
Colin is just a tiny kitten trying to be brave in a world that feels very big and very scary.
When you first open his door, you might hear it .. a big, dramatic hiss coming from a very small body. It's Colin's way of saying he's frightened and unsure about what's happening around him. New places and new people are overwhelming for this little guy, and it takes him a moment to realise that he's safe.
But if you don't walk away, if you give him a chance, you'll see the real Colin.
The moment a gentle hand reaches in to give him a scratch or a soft pat, his whole tough act disappears. That tiny kitten who looked so fierce melts instantly. He leans into your hand, soaking up the affection he secretly craves, forgetting for a moment that he was ever scared at all.
Colin isn't a "look how confident I am" kitten.
He's a "please be patient with me while I learn to trust you" kitten.
He needs someone with a kind heart who understands that sometimes the sweetest animals are just the ones who have been the most afraid. Someone who can look past that little hiss and see the loving, gentle kitten hiding underneath.
Because Colin isn't mean.
He isn't difficult.
He's just a baby who's a little scared and desperately hoping someone won't judge him by his cover.
All Colin needs is one person willing to open their heart and give him the chance to show who he really is. Once he knows he's safe, you'll have the most devoted little shadow, melting into every scratch and pat like it's the best thing he's ever felt.
Please don't let Colin be overlooked because he's scared.
He's waiting for someone who will see past the hiss and choose him anyway.
Colin is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Colin - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
