Let us introduce you to a very special girl... Zena.

Zena is our little Staffy with the biggest heart, and her story is one that has touched everyone here. After spending her entire life with the same owner, she has sadly found herself in our care through no fault of her own. For a dog who only ever knew one home and one person, it has been an incredibly confusing and heartbreaking change.

What Zena wants more than anything is simply to be close to her people again. She absolutely adores human company and loves nothing more than curling up beside you on the couch for cuddles and quiet companionship. She has previously lived with children and would be happy in a home with secondary school aged kids or older who can enjoy her gentle, loving nature.

When Zena was younger, she was sadly attacked by other dogs. Since then she has developed a fear of them, which makes the busy shelter environment very stressful for her. Because of this, Zena is hoping to find a calm home where she can be the only dog and finally feel safe and at peace again. During that attack, her eye was badly injured and had to be removed. But after eight years of living this way, Zena has adapted beautifully and doesn't let it slow her down at all. One look into her big, soulful eye is enough to melt anyone's heart.

At her age, Zena does have a few health conditions that her future family will need to be aware of, and our team would be more than happy to chat through everything with you. She's looking for a family who can see past her medical chart and into her heart.
