About Wave
Hello. My name is Wave.
Some people also call me Wavey. Others prefer Wavey Gravy. I answer to both, especially if snacks are involved.
I started life in a very busy household with lots of siblings. There was always someone to chase, climb over, or curl up beside. We spent our days racing after balls, scaling the cat tower, and launching surprise pounces on each other. Even now, I still enjoy being around other cats. I like their company, even if I sometimes step away for a little space of my own.
I am a thoughtful kitten. I like to watch the world before deciding how I feel about it. When I first arrived, I took my time getting used to things. Three weeks before I would come out for food. Five weeks before I accepted pats. Six weeks before I realised that cuddles might actually be quite nice. I have made huge progress since then.
New people are something I approach carefully. I will usually watch from a safe hiding place at first. Once I realise everything is safe, though, I begin to come closer. The kitten who once avoided people now happily sits on legs, accepts being carried around by a child, and sometimes even demands attention.
Yes, demands. Because these days, I have discovered my voice. When there is food in the kitchen or a snack being shared, I will make sure everyone knows I would like to be involved.
I am still very much a playful kitten. I love chasing balls, climbing anything that can be climbed, and racing around with my siblings. My litter habits are excellent, and I have no bad habits to speak of.
There are a few funny things about me. I like sitting on the edge of the bath and studying the water. Sometimes I get too curious and step into it. Every single time, I remember that I do not like being wet.
Children turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me. With the right child who understands cats, I have learned that cuddles and being carried can be quite enjoyable. Young or busy toddlers might be a bit overwhelming, though, so a calm home would suit me best.
I might take a little longer than most kittens to settle in. I need time, patience, and a place where I can watch the world while I figure it out.
But if you give me that time, you will start to see the real me. A funny, curious, affectionate little kitten who loves watching the world, sitting close to his people, and joining the household in his own gentle way.
The change I have made over the last few weeks has been incredible.
And I am still growing braver every day.
Give me time and space, and I promise I will reward you with so much joy. 🐾
