About Jay, the greyhound
If you are interested in Jay, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/4YdfUixpmWdJ4StT9
Jay, or Jay Jay as we lovingly call him, is one of those dogs who quietly steals your heart. He is incredibly sweet but still a little shy when meeting new people. The good news is that his trust is easily won with a few gentle ear scratches, soft pats, or the promise of something tasty in your hand.
At home, Jay is the definition of a couch potato. He happily spends most of the day lounging and sleeping, completely unfazed by whatever is going on around him. But mention walkies or dinner and you’ll suddenly see a much more excited Jay who almost forgets about being shy.
He walks nicely on the lead. He might start off a little enthusiastic but quickly settles into a relaxed stroll. Jay is still curious about other dogs he meets on walks, but he is currently living beautifully with other greyhounds and a whippet.
Jay is also very good with his toileting. He holds overnight and will let you know if he needs to go out.
Because he is such a laid-back boy, Jay would be equally happy in an apartment or a house with a garden. While he enjoys a quick sniff around the yard, he usually chooses to head straight back inside to his favourite safe spot and continue his nap.
Jay is looking for a patient and loving home that will give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. With kindness, warmth and a little encouragement, his beautiful nature shines through. When you look into his eyes, you can see a gentle boy who simply wants to feel safe, loved, and part of a family.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
