Meet Onyx – The Little Firecracker with a Whole Lot of Heart 🐾🖤

Onyx may be small and stout, but don’t let her compact build fool you — this black-coated beauty is packed full of personality. Confident, social, and always keen to be part of the action, she brings her own sparkle wherever she goes.

She’s curious, brave, and wonderfully people-focused, happily bouncing over to say hello and see what’s happening. While she may be smaller than her brothers, Onyx keeps up in spirit and absolutely holds her own in playtime and daily adventures.

A Little Extra Special 💫
Onyx was born with a birth abnormality affecting her rear paws — she doesn’t have all the usual paw pads a puppy would normally have. This is inoperable, and as a result she has a sweet little hop in her step and doesn’t always fully weight bear on her back feet.

The wonderful news is that this doesn’t require anything traditionally different in terms of her day-to-day care. She’s comfortable, happy, and able to enjoy life like any other pup. The main consideration is that she won’t be suited to high-impact activities as she grows — so no big agility courses or intense jumping sessions like her brothers might enjoy.

Instead, she’ll thrive with:
- Gentle adventures
- Enrichment and brain games
- Steady walks suited to her comfort
- Training sessions that challenge her clever mind

She doesn’t see herself as different — and neither should you. She simply moves through life with a little extra bounce.

Social & Sweet 🐶
Onyx would love a home with another friendly, balanced dog who enjoys play but can also match her pace. She’s social and enjoys companionship, though she’s equally happy soaking up human attention.

She hasn’t met cats yet, but with slow introductions and guidance, she would likely learn to live respectfully alongside a dog-savvy feline.

Children 6 years and up would be ideal. Being small and sturdy (and occasionally underfoot!), she’ll do best in a home where kids understand how to interact gently and respectfully with a little dog.

Learning & Growing 🎓✨
Like all puppies, Onyx would benefit from puppy school at a minimum to help her build confidence, social skills, and good manners. Ongoing training classes would be even better — she’s a bright little girl who will love learning new tricks and showing off her skills.

With structure, positive reinforcement, and inclusion in daily life, Onyx will grow into a devoted, well-rounded companion — and a beautiful advocate for rescue dogs and differently-abled pups everywhere.
