About Jessica - 6 Year Old Kelpie X Cattle Dog
Jessica – 6 -year-old Kelpie X Cattle Dog
Jessica’s Story:
Jessica came into care after her previous owners made the difficult decision to surrender her as she was frequently escaping the property during storms or when nearby clay target shooting caused loud noises that frightened her.
Jessica has transitioned beautifully into indoor living while in foster care. She has lovely manners, sleeps soundly through the night in her own bed, and is making excellent progress with her toilet training. Jessica is 19kg and her foster carer describes her as an easy, gentle companion who has embraced home life with grace and gratitude.
Jess’s Ideal Home
🐾 Affection & Inclusion
Jessica thrives on being part of daily life. She is happiest when included in family activities, enjoying closeness, gentle attention, and a good snuggle.
🐕 Only Dog or Multi‑Dog Home
She can live happily as an only dog with plenty of human company or with other friendly, active dogs.
🎓 Ongoing Training
She responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and will continue to flourish with gentle, consistent training.
🎾 Play & Enrichment
Jessica enjoys fetch, yard play, squeaky toys, and romping with other dogs. She benefits from a daily walk or run to keep her happy and healthy.
🚗 Adventures & Outings
She travels well in the car, walks nicely on lead, and is always ready to join you on outings or weekend adventures.
🏡 Indoor Living
Jess loves being indoors as part of the family, she must be allowed inside to sleep and be inside when you’re home. As she is frightened of storms she must have secure fencing and access to compressive shelter. She is well-behaved inside, though still learning some house-training basics with continued positive reinforcement she will nail it in no time.
