About Chester STA014401
Chester’s story hasn’t been an easy one. This handsome boy spent the early part of his life fending for himself on the streets, surviving without the comfort, safety, or love of a home. With no positive human contact during those important early months, it’s completely understandable that Chester arrived with some big trust issues.
But here’s the beautiful part — Chester is learning.
Slowly, gently, and at his own pace, he has begun to realise that humans can mean good food, a warm bed, and a safe, peaceful night’s sleep. Every day, in small but meaningful ways, he lets his guard down just a little more. A cautious step forward. A longer linger nearby. Allowing a human to inch closer into his personal space — and into his heart.
Chester is very curious. You can see that he wants to trust. He watches, he observes, and he’s quietly working things out. He will need a patient, understanding home that will let him move at his own speed and celebrate the small victories along the way.
We believe Chester may truly blossom with a friendly, confident feline companion who can show him how wonderful life with the right human can be. A calm, steady cat friend could help him continue building confidence and feel secure.
Chester is still a work in progress — but the most rewarding journeys often are. For the right person, someone who understands that love sometimes takes time, Chester will be an incredibly special companion.
If you have patience, kindness, and a quiet home filled with reassurance, Chester may just be waiting for you.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
