About Lucille
Hi there, my name is Lucille!
Now, unlike my iconic namesake, Lucille Ball, I’m not quite ready for the spotlight just yet. I’m more of a behind-the-scenes kind of girl—an introvert with a heart of gold. When we first meet, I might seem a little shy and timid, but if you can give me some time and a bit of space, you’ll start to see my sweet, gentle nature shine through.
I’m a beautiful little black greyhound with the most adorable ears and a delicate dusting of white on my snoot (I like to think it adds character!). I’ve been settling into my lovely foster home over the past few weeks, and I’ll admit - home life was a bit overwhelming at first. There are so many strange things! Coffee machines, washing machines, vacuum cleaners… who invited all of those?
But with the help of my wonderful foster mum, I’ve been learning that these things aren’t so scary after all. She made sure I always had a safe space away from these weird devices where I could relax and take everything in at my own pace, and that’s made all the difference. With gentle reassurance and patience, I’m growing braver every day. Slow and steady is definitely the key.
As I’ve started to build trust, my foster mum has learned a few important things about me. Quick hand movements near my face can make me nervous, but a soft rub on my belly or side? That’s my happy place. And then there’s my greatest love of all… cheese. Yes, cheese is the way to my heart. If something startles me, a little cheesy distraction works wonders—and might just make us best friends in record time.
I’d be happy living with children over 5 who understand that I need kindness, calm, and a little personal space while I settle in. I’d also enjoy having a canine companion, as long as they’re easygoing and respectful—not too bouncy or in my face.
At my core, I’m a very gentle and sensitive soul with so much love to give. With a patient, caring home and people who will help me continue to build my confidence, I know I’ll truly blossom. And who knows… once I’m feeling safe and settled, there might just be a little bit of Lucille Ball sparkle waiting to come out after all.
