About Matilda
Matilda is an active, cute, and lovable young girl with all the energy and enthusiasm you'd expect from a working‑breed youngster. She's bright, eager to please, and will thrive with a family ready to give her plenty of mental and physical enrichment. Matilda already knows how to sit and is working hard on her down cue, and she'd love to continue building her skills with positive, reward‑based training. She bonds quickly and wants to be part of the family, so she'll need to be allowed indoors and would benefit from someone being home for the first few days as she settles in. Crate training may suit her well, giving her a cosy retreat when she feels anxious or overwhelmed. She can be unsure with close handling and may become mouthy when overexcited, so she'll need slow, calm interactions and ongoing work on positive touch consent. Matilda absolutely adores her toys and will thrive with a rotating selection to keep things interesting. She also loves engaging with enrichment and happily works for her meals using a snuffle mat. She will be best suited to a home with older children who can respect her space and must meet them at adoption. She has shown reactivity to scooters and bikes, so quiet walking areas and simple management strategies will help her succeed. She must meet any potential dog companions, and due to her reactivity from a distance, will require a calm, tolerant dog and a controlled introduction. Her new family will need to continue supporting her with training and management and avoid dog parks and beaches for now. Matilda is a vibrant young dog with so much potential and is ready for a family willing to guide her as she grows.
