About Pippi
Meet Pippi – Petite Adventure Buddy 🐾
Pippi is a gorgeous 6 month old Border Collie x Kelpie with a big personality packed into a small body, she is much smaller than you’d expect for her breed mix, making her the perfect compact adventure companion.
Pippi is a very fit and active young dog who loves getting out and about. She enjoys bush walks, exploring with her foster dog sibling, and joining her humans on outings to places like Bunnings and Petstock. She walks nicely on lead and is building confidence in new environments every day.
She is a sweet and playful girl who absolutely loves other dogs and must go to a home with another playful, ideally confident dog to help guide her and give her a companion to play and explore with. Toys are a big favourite, and she enjoys interactive playtime.
Pippi can be a little shy with new people and takes some time to warm up, but once she feels comfortable she is affectionate and playful. She has made great progress in foster care and continues to gain confidence with positive experiences.
Pippi is a clever young dog who is already making great progress with training. She:
• Is crate trained
• Sits and waits politely for meals
• Is learning recall and stay
• Has started place training
• Walks well on lead
• Is learning to ignore exciting things like vacuums and mops
As an intelligent working-breed mix, Pippi needs regular mental and physical enrichment to stay happy and settled. Without appropriate exercise and stimulation, she may become bored and can become destructive, so she is best suited to an active home committed to keeping her engaged.
She takes cues from other dogs really well when she’s getting a bit annoying or they’re not interested in playing, and will happily move on without any fuss. She absolutely loves doing crazy zoomies whether she has dog friends to chase around with or just entertaining herself!
Pippi has met kittens and cats and is generally friendly with them, but sometimes needs a reminder not to chase when she gets a bit excited. With guidance and consistency, she settles well and learns quickly.
Pippi previously had a broken leg that went untreated, but she has since received specialist care and has been fully cleared for normal activity. She is currently on Antinol to support long-term joint health. While she may develop arthritis later in life, this is expected to be many years down the track.
Pippi would suit an active home committed to continuing her training and confidence building. A secure yard with 6ft fencing is compulsory to keep this clever little adventurer safe.
She will make a loyal and fun companion for someone who enjoys getting outdoors and including their dog in everyday adventures.
If you’re looking for a small, smart and adventurous best friend, Pippi might be your perfect match. 🐕✨
