About Sandy, the greyhound
If you are interested in Sandy, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/4YdfUixpmWdJ4StT9
Sandy is a gentle, playful greyhound who does best in a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe and settle at her own pace. She would suit a house or apartment with access to a yard, as she genuinely enjoys spending time outside. One of her sweetest traits is her independence. Sandy will often take herself outdoors to play, zoom around with her toys, or simply lie on the grass or a dog bed under the pergola.
She is social with other dogs and would love a canine companion. Sandy currently lives happily with another greyhound and a smaller breed, and she enjoys playing with dogs that share her energy and enthusiasm. She particularly loves chasing balls and engaging in playful yard games. She may also occasionally steal a shoe for fun, but she is not destructive… except for the veggie patch, which she clearly considers fair game.
Sandy is comfortable being left alone for a few hours. She is toilet trained and manages her own downtime well, often choosing to relax outside.
On walks, Sandy is good on lead and enjoys exploring and sniffing her surroundings. Traffic does not seem to bother her, though she can be a little jumpy around passers-by. A quieter area is likely to suit her best, helping her feel more relaxed and confident as she continues to build trust in new environments.
She is great with children and has been around kids of all ages. Sandy’s nature is on the timid side at first, so she needs people who are patient, calm, and willing to let her come to them. Once she feels safe, her personality shines. She becomes affectionate, playful, and deeply attached to her people.
Sandy will thrive with routine, structure, and gentle reassurance. With the right home, she blossoms into a beautiful, loving girl who brings joy through her playful spirit and quiet loyalty.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
