Please note, incomplete applications will not be considered.
Zali is a deeply loyal and sensitive girl who forms an incredibly strong bond with her person. When she feels secure and connected, she is affectionate, responsive, intelligent, and wonderfully stable. She is eager to please, learns quickly, and grows braver every day, showing just how much potential she has when she feels safe.
She thrives on reassurance and can display strong attachment behaviours in certain situations, particularly if she believes she is being left behind while her person is still nearby. She has jumped into a lifted 4WD window when she thought she was being driven away from, and she may hesitate at doorways or new spaces unless she knows you are coming too. She needs to feel included and secure in the moment.
Importantly, Zali does cope well when left at home for work. She settles in her crate, is not destructive, and does not show separation anxiety in the traditional sense. Her responses are more about feeling excluded while you are physically present, rather than struggling when left alone.
She can be a little skittish with fast movements or being rushed, so calm, predictable handling is important. She benefits from people who move gently and allow her to approach on her own terms. When she becomes highly excited, she can find it hard to self-settle and will need continued guidance and consistency as she matures.
Zali is not a hard dog, but she is a sensitive one. She is looking for a calm, stable home with patient, emotionally regulated adults who will continue building her confidence and providing gentle support. In the right environment, her sensitivity will be something truly special to nurture.
Medical notes
Zali has mild hip dysplasia in both hips. This doesn’t limit her at the moment. Our vets have said this shouldn’t affect her and she may only require pain relief to help her move at approximately 8 years of age.
She will require a home where she doesn’t do much running or jumping and where she only has one or 2 walks a day. She isn’t suited to a sports dog or working dog home.
