About Robbie 😉
Meet Robbie – our Christmas Eve miracle.
Robbie is fearless, confident, playful and completely unbothered by his limited vision. He charges through life like it owes him something (and frankly, it does). Because he was handled constantly from days old he is very comfortable with people. He’s confident with cats & dogs, and assumes every human exists purely for his entertainment.
He is also, admittedly, a bit of a cheeky menace. After losing his brothers, Robbie spent a few weeks on his own, and he’s developed some classic “single kitten syndrome” traits. He loves to play bite (especially with your toes, fingers & ankles). He plays beautifully by himself but will thrive with a playful kitty friend who can match his energy and teach him proper cat manners.
Playful cheekiness aside, he has his cuddly boy moments too. He enjoys a cuddle on the couch and sleeps next to you at night (if invited), wakes up ready to conquer the world, and brings enormous personality in a very small body.
Robbie’s forever home must:
- have a confident, tolerant and playful resident cat to help continue his social development
- be committed to indoor-only living (his vision impairment makes outdoor life unsafe)
- understand that he may have mild, lifelong respiratory quirks from his early illness (see medical disclosures below)
- embrace a spirited, affectionate, slightly nibble-happy kitten who just wants to play and be loved.

Robbie's Story:
Robbie was born in a pound alongside his two brothers, Rupert and Ralph, to their beautiful but very scared mumma, Rosie. Rosie was very unwell with severe flu, terrified of humans, and trying to care for newborn babies while battling pneumonia. In situations like this, the ending is often heartbreakingly short. But the day we met them, we knew we had to try.
Shortly after entering care, the entire little family became critically ill. With Rosie too frightened and unwell to travel, the wonderful team at Ready Vet Go came to them. All of them had severe flu and when you are less than 200g, your treatment options are painfully limited.
Rosie became too sick to feed her babies, so their foster carer stepped in, bottle-feeding every four hours around the clock. Despite everyone’s best efforts, sweet Ralph passed away peacefully a few days later. About a week after that, Rupert and Robbie both developed pneumonia. Rupert was so weak and fragile that we had to make the devastating decision to let him go gently and with love. Robbie, however, decided he wasn’t done fighting.
He battled severe conjunctivitis and illness so intense that his right eye never opened. To this day, it remains closed. When he zooms around too hard, you’ll sometimes hear a little whistle when he breathes, a reminder of the pneumonia he overcame.
Robbie is a survivor in every sense of the word and now he's ready for a home that will cherish the brave little boy who refused to give up.
If you’re looking for a resilient, hilarious, snuggly one-eyed miracle… Robbie is waiting!
Medical notes
Robbie’s right eye did not fully develop following severe neonatal flu. It remains closed, but he shows no pain or discomfort, no treatment is required, and surgical removal is not currently recommended.
Due to significant flu and pneumonia as a tiny kitten, Robbie occasionally makes a soft whistle sound when he over-exerts himself. He is otherwise bright, active and thriving, and no medication is needed at this stage.
Given how unwell he was early in life, he may experience occasional mild respiratory flare-ups (such as sneezing or discharge), which can typically be managed with veterinary guidance if they arise.
Robbie has been assessed by a veterinarian and is well and cleared for adoption. A full, detailed medical disclosure will be provided to his approved adopters.

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
