Meet Robby 🐾
Personality:
Robby is a happy, social boy who truly loves life and being part of everything his humans are doing. Hanging with his people is his favourite thing in the world and he thrives on playful adventure. He loves going on hikes, splashing and swimming, chasing waves, playing fetch and joining in on herding style games like chasing a soccer ball. As an Australian Cattle Dog and a young dog, Robby is very switched on and happiest when both his mind and body are kept busy.
Robby absolutely loves people, dogs, cats and kids. He especially loves being around other dogs and would suit a home with another young, playful and friendly dog to play with and relax alongside. He is a very affectionate boy and is addicted to sitting or laying on your lap once playtime is over. Robby is also very funny and keeps everyone laughing with his silly antics.
Training:
Robby is a very smart boy and has been working hard on his recall. He surprises everyone with how happily he comes back to his name, especially when rewarded with pats and love. He enjoys learning and enjoys training sessions with his humans. He would greatly benefit from his adoptive family enrolling him in some further training with them so he can use his smart brain. Possibly agility, scent work or even just obedience training.
Robby is still working on a few things. He can pull on the lead, particularly on a short lead, but walks much better on a long leash and will benefit from continued loose lead training. He is obsessed with his foster sisters and playing with other dogs.
Robby is a great car traveller with no issues at all, he sleeps beautifully in his crate all night and you do not hear a peep out of him.
Perfect Home:
Robby is looking for active humans who love being outside and are excited to give him a full and enriching life. He would love a home that includes daily adventures such as morning hikes, big swims, training games, dog park visits or structured play, with another outlet again in the evening. He loves running and would make the absolute perfect running partner for someone who is into training hard.
Robby must go to a home with another young, playful dog as he truly thrives when he has a dog friend around. He is also looking for a home where his people are homesome of the time, as he does best with company and being included in everyday life and does not suit being left alone for long periods.
Robby has done very well around children over 7 years old when supervised by an adult and is learning to be calm, give space and listen. He would suit a home that understands young working breeds and is committed to continuing his training and enrichment.
