About 🏵️Dahlia🏵️
Dahlia is a gentle, thoughtful girl who just needs a little time to feel safe and once she does, she will quietly become your most loyal companion.
She can be shy at first and appreciates having a secure space to retreat to when life feels overwhelming. If something startles her, she’ll use her safe spot until she’s sure that everything is okay. Because of this, Dahlia would be best suited to a quieter home rather than a busy household with young children.
What Dahlia truly wants is simple: your company. She isn’t demanding or vocal, but she loves being near her person. If there’s a closed door between you, she’ll patiently wait on the other side for you. When you’re relaxing on the couch watching your favourite show, she’ll happily settle at your feet, beside you, or even in the next chair, close enough to feel connected, but never in your face.
At night, Dahlia makes the most peaceful sleeping companion. She’ll curl up on your bed near you (not on top of you!) and stay there all night! No zoomies, no stepping on your head, just snoozing.
She has a healthy appetite, excellent toileting habits, and lovely house manners. She adores head rubs, enjoys a gentle belly rub, and if she feels she hasn’t received quite enough affection, she’ll give you the sweetest little headbutt as a reminder. Work from home? No worries, she likes to make polite appearances in team meetings before settling comfortably on a nearby chair or desk to supervise.
Dahlia has previously lived with other cats and dogs. She may be fine to live with a smaller dog again with a slow introduction but she would be more than happy to have a friendly feline companion in her new home. She will need a home willing to brush and comb her regularly to avoid matting and a continued quality diet to ensure her ongoing health.
This darling girl is ready to be someone’s steady, devoted best friend. She is desexed, microchipped and up to date with her vaccinations and parasite treatments. Dahlia is in care in Brighton and looking for a home in Melbourne or it’s surrounding suburbs.
