NOTE: You are unable to meet Gretta until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Gretta in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
 
What I need in my new home: 
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction
• A submissive doggie playmate would be great to keep me company when my family isn't home or a family that is home all the time. I get lonely and a bit anxious when left alone which may cause me to bark or become destructive. If not, lots of mental stimulation and socialising with other dogs
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent, no gaps or holes)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first, so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• Being an active breed, I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence

• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I get to know you
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks
• I love attention, hugs, kisses and head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch

 
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue with my socialisation
• Unsure in new situations - more socialising is needed
• I love my food so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I appear to be quite vocal at times when left alone - a family who has a lot of time for me, allow me indoors and leave me with lots of mental enrichment when home alone is recommended
• I am extremely timid in new situations such as entering a building/home. I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow
• It doesn't take long for me warm up and my excitable and full of life nature to come out
• As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
