About Dory
Dory is a very pretty 3-year-old with four perfect little black feet and over 100 days of shelter life behind her.
After lots of monitoring and vet consultation, we have concluded that there is nothing wrong with Dory - she's just... a little unconventional.
True to her namesake, this funny lady has her own unique quirks, including occasionally licking walls. We've accepted this as part of her personal charm. She's an individual, and she's not afraid to express it.
Dory is a gentle, affectionate cat who enjoys spending time with people on her own terms. She enjoys pats and brushing (needed weekly, ongoing) and will likely choose to sit with you on the couch and luxuriate on your bed. She values her independence and appreciates being able to choose her interactions, and she may give a quiet grumble if she feels she's had enough attention.
Dory has a beautiful, matt-free coat that she maintains well, but she will need weekly brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best. Grooming can also be a lovely opportunity to build trust and connection with her over time.
Dory can live with other cats, provided they are respectful of her space and don't expect too much interaction. She is not seeking a close feline friendship and would be best suited to living with another calm, independent cat - or as the only cat in the home.
Dory is a calm and observant presence who enjoys quiet environments. She has a playful, mischievous side and is known for selecting excellent hiding spots, quietly observing while her shelter carers search for her nearby.
Dory would suit a home that appreciates her thoughtful, slightly eccentric nature and allows her the time and space to settle in at her own pace. With patience and understanding, she has the potential to become a gentle and rewarding companion.
