About Daisy
Daisy is a gorgeous dog with a truly beautiful temperament. She has a puppy-like energy and loves belly rubs and cuddles.
She was rescued from a horrific back-yard breeding situation where she was caged in a cramped shed with many other dogs.
During her time in foster-care she has been learning how to live in a house, use a dog door, walk on a lead etc. She has adjusted very well and most of the time you would never guess where she came from.
However, her new family will need to be mindful that she has had limited exposure in her previous life and that many experiences will be new to her.
Daisy likes to hide under beds and cabinets and fall asleep. Her ears seem to turn off when she is asleep which can make her hard to find. She loves to share a bed or couch with her owners, but hasn’t learnt to jump, so needs to be lifted. She is not a big fan of being carried and can tense up.
Daisy can be scared by sudden loud noises and fast movements. She may run or roll onto her back. She is a little anxious during rain on a tin roof and thunder. Gentle reassurance while she gets used to household noises and activities will help her settle in.
Daisy is a beautiful dog and is looking for an exceptional home.
She has been treated horribly in the past and now it is time for her to be pampered and adored like she should be.
Her family will need to be committed to coat maintenance, brushing every other day, eye cleaning and grooming every 6 weeks.
She would love to have someone around most of the time and a nice backyard to spend time in. She is good with kids and would best suit dog savvy kids 8+ who can give her space and be respectful of her gentle and submissive nature. She needs a dog companion of similar size and energy level to play with.
Daisy has been around free roaming chickens with no problems. She has not met any cats or big dogs while in foster care but would probably be fine with proper introductions.
If you think you can offer Daisy the wonderful life she deserves, please apply.
Daisy must be rehomed with other dogs similar to her size as she won't cope in a dog free environment.
