About August
August is a 12-month-old German Shepherd x Akita with a goofy, lovable
personality. He’s a bouncy young dog with plenty of energy and an eagerness to
please. August has already made a good start on his training and will benefit from
ongoing guidance as he continues to learn. An active home would suit him best,
ideally with older children while he polishes his manners.
With People: Friendly and social, August enjoys human company. He can be enthusiastic and excitable, so continued training will help him develop polite greetings.
With Other Dogs: August may suit a well-matched, tolerant dog who can handle his playful energy. Calm, structured introductions and ongoing supervision will help set him up for
success.
Health: As a large cross breed, maintaining a healthy weight, appropriate exercise, and ongoing training will be important for his long-term wellbeing.
If you’re looking for a fun, active companion with lots of potential, August may be
your perfect match.

Adoption details
If you are interested in meeting one of the dogs available on our adoption page, please contact City of Salisbury on (08) 8406 8222 or email communitycompliance@salisbury.sa.gov.au, and complete an adoption application.
Once your application has been received, we will be in touch to discuss your application and the next steps. This includes organising a meet and greet so you and the dog can get to know one another.
If there are children or other dogs in your household, we ask that a second meet and greet be arranged. This allows for a dog-to-dog introduction and helps ensure your resident dog is also happy with your choice of companion.
Please note that some dogs may require further training and may be too energetic for families with very young children. Our team will guide you through the best options to suit you and your family and help match you with the right dog.
If everything meets your expectations, we will work with you to complete the required paperwork and payment so you can take your newest family member home.
