About Fergus 🧡
Meet Fergus – the brave explorer with a snuggly side 🧡
Fergus is Walter’s brother, but his personality is uniquely his own! This little adventurer is always the first to investigate something new — a sound in the grass, a fluttering leaf, or wherever the fun is happening. Curious and confident, Fergus enjoys making the most of every moment.
Despite his busy schedule of exploring and playing with his siblings, Fergus is also one of the first to run back for affection. He happily trots over for a cuddle, leaning in for pats before heading off on his next mission.
He absolutely loves water and will happily launch himself into the water trough or stretch out in the shell pool to cool off after playtime!
In foster care he has been learning to socialise, play nicely and follow his dad around during their paddock runs, building both confidence and connection with people and dogs.
Fergus would love an active home that will nurture his inquisitive mind, continue his training and, most importantly, never be short on cuddles.
If you want a puppy who brings both fun and affection in equal measure — Fergus is ready to join your family 🐾
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long and is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Fergus is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making him a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet him. Should he, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the commitment to give him a new home, then please select the "Enquire about Fergus” and we will send you an application form or go to our website and complete the application form.

We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
