About Walter
Meet Walter – the mini-me with a heart of gold 💙
Walter is a very handsome young boy who looks just like his dad Jack… and has inherited his beautiful nature too. Calm, gentle and affectionate, Walter is placid just like his dad who enjoys people just as much as playtime.
Since arriving into foster care, Walter has discovered how fun life can be! He spends his days running and tumbling around with his three siblings, learning confidence and social skills. His absolute favourite time of day is the morning and afternoon paddock runs — especially when Dad joins in! Walter loves chasing him through the grass with his brothers and sister, then cooling off with a splash in the water.
Walter would suit a family who will include him in daily life, allow him to continue growing into the balanced, happy dog he is becoming, and maybe even share a few water adventures along the way.
If you’re looking for a sweet, easy-going puppy who will grow into a loyal companion… Walter is waiting to meet you. 🐾
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long and is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Walter is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making him a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet him. Should he, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the commitment to give him a new home, then please select the "Enquire about Walter” and we will send you an application form or go to our website and complete the application form.

We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
