Xaden is a stunning 8-month-old Bi-colour German Shepherd, who is looking for an experienced forever home. Xaden’s owner has unfortunately passed away, and he is stuck in the pound, waiting for someone to give him a second chance at forever.
Xaden is a friendly fellow that loves meeting new people, he enjoys pats and attention, he will jump up in excitement to say hello but is also quite sensible once he is calm. Xaden would be best suited to a home with large breed experience and where everyone is over the age of 8 years old.
Xaden is still a big pup and lacks impulse control and manners at times; he is a quick learner and is eager to please his humans, with consistent training and boundaries he will become a gentleman in no time. Xaden loves treats and verbal praise, he would do well with ongoing training using positive reinforcement and rewards. Xaden is entering his teenage phase and will test the rules of the home; his new family need to be prepared to put in the work for this big teenage boy.
Xaden is a bit of blank slate; he knows the very basics but that is it. He hasn’t been taught to walk nicely on lead and currently he wants to sniff and zig-zag everywhere without any real direction. Xaden will need to work on this with his new humans.
Xaden will need an active home where he receives lots of exercise and mental stimulation; regular training sessions and activities to keep his clever mind working will help him to build confidence and stay out of mischief. Xaden hasn’t spent much time on his own, whilst he would love to have someone home often, when he is left by himself, he enjoys treat puzzles and other challenges.
Xaden hasn’t had a lot of exposure to the outside world; he is curious and inquisitive but can easily get overwhelmed when he is unsure. Xaden’s new owners need to be committed to his ongoing socialisation and exposure, Xaden hasn’t had any bad experiences, and we want to keep all future interactions positive by ensuring new things are introduced gradually.
Xaden has lived with another dog all his life and enjoyed her company, he hasn’t met many other dogs since he was a pup. When we assessed Xaden, he would bark at other dogs at a distance, he presented as very frustrated and unsure. Xaden was eventually able to say hello closer up and have a sniff, however he was still very conflicted.
Xaden may be able to live with another large breed dog, he would need a slow introduction, and his humans must be able to separate Xaden and their other dog in the home whilst he adjusts. Xaden would be fine living as the only dog in his new home if he has someone home often.
This sweet boy has had his entire world turned upside down and is already spending life in the pound at just 8 months old. Xaden is looking for someone that has an abundance of time, patience and love to give, to help him build his confidence and socialisation with the world around him.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
